Grace Dents real reason for quitting Im A Celeb as she talks biggest regret

I’m A Celeb: Grace Dent leaves the jungle on medical grounds

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Grace Dent reportedly left the show because she found being with “divisive characters” in camp difficult. The 50-year-old quit the jungle citing medical grounds last month and was seen boarding a flight home the next day.

Now, in the upcoming ITV spin-off special, I’m A Celebrity…Coming Out, Grace said of her time in the jungle: “Leaving my campmates and the girls will be the greatest regret of my life.” An insider said Grace will also tell “how she found it hard being in camp with people who under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t share a sleeping space with – and that includes divisive characters like Nigel”.

As well as this, the food critic is expected to “lift the lid” about what she found “hard” in camp, including the “lack of control” she felt and having “nowhere to hide”, according to The Sun. Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Grace for comment.

At the time of her departure, a spokesperson told us: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”

Ahead of leaving, she sparked concerns with her appearance and was also heard telling campmates: “I just want to go home.” Days after arriving back in the UK, Grace broke her silence on her stint in a lengthy post on Instagram.

The MasterChef star said her jungle exit wasn’t how she wanted it to go and was feeling “overwhelmingly sad right now”. She went on to thank her supporters for their “outpouring of love” adding she was “determined to keep alive in my heart the huge personal breakthroughs I made over the weeks”.

Grace continued: “I spent 15 days without a phone or any contact with loved ones, living much of the time outdoors in a rain forest in very wet weather. It gave me a short, sharp glimpse into the pain some folk worldwide endure. Normal life, forever, will always feel beautiful.”

Grace went on to reflect on the challenges she faced from climbing down a skyscraper, to having a cockroach in her ear and sleeping amongst huntsman spiders and rats. Such an experience, she added, showed her she was “physically stronger” than she thought. Shortly after Grace’s exit from the jungle, Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears also left on medical grounds.

The 32-year-old later thanked viewers for their support in a lengthy Instagram statement, adding she was taking time to “recover”. After Sam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night, she took to her Story to congratulate him.

“Oh my gosh, Sam, you’re the King of the Jungle, I’m so proud of you,” she shared. “I’m so proud of all of my campmates and I wish I was there celebrating with you all but we will make up for it in due time, just send me that date please.

“Anyways I’m so lucky to have made lifelong friends out of this experience.” Made In Chelsea star Sam won the show over runner-up Tony Bellew and third-place contestant Nigel Farage, watched by a peak overnight audience of 7.6 million.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Coming Out will air December 13 at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
