Kirstie Allsopp bed bound after embarrassing fall down pub stairs
Kirstie Allsopp has told fans she’s back to work but “still sore” in an update on her recent horrific accident.
The Channel 4 presenter had been forced to skip filming Location, Location, Location in late September after a fall down stairs in a pub left her “bruised and battered”.
Taking to Instagram to update her 319,000 followers on how she was getting on, she wrote alongside a snap of her smiling: “On the way to my first day back on the job for @LoveitorlistitUK.
“We’re working with a lovely family in Caterham and one of the great perks of my job is sometimes being driven about, but at the moment it’s more of a downside as sitting in the car is a wee bit sore; following the stair surfing incident I’m much happier standing up.
“But I did want to say a HUGE thank you for all the very kind messages, I don’t recommend hurling yourself down 15 steps, but I was very touched that people were so kind, every cloud….”

Kirstie had been forced to skip filming Location, Location, Location, which she films with longtime co-host Phil Spencer, after the fall left her bed-bound. Besides a video, which showed her lying in bed, she wrote on Instagram last month: “News from bed…stupidly I went headfirst down a pub staircase yesterday morning while filming @c4locationsofficial.
“I am battered & bruised and putting my pants on is a struggle,” she added with a laughing emoji. “But I’ll be back on track soon.
“@philspencertv is stepping into the breach and is taking over with my house hunters.”
Explaining how she got into the accident, she continued: “Today is Wednesday, so it’s a working day and I should be out filming Location, Location, Location.
“Except yesterday, when we were in a pub in Stoke Newington, filming our start-of-day chat with our lovely house hunters Beth and Rory, I went off to the loo.

“And unfortunately I got something wrong and I ended up falling down an entire flight of stairs.
“It was, I think probably without a doubt, the scariest thing and most painful thing I have ever done in my life and I feel immensely blessed to be lying here in bed and not having broken anything.
“I’m bruised and battered and I went and had an x-ray and a CT scan,” she added, before thanking the medical staff that had treated her.
Kirstie went on to admit that she now found her fall “quite comic” despite colleagues initially getting a “terrible fright”.
