‘Hidden gem’ village with chocolate box cottages voted prettiest in the UK

A quiet country village that boasts chocolate box houses and stunning rural scenery has been named one of the ‘prettiest’ in the UK.

And it’s highly likely you won’t have even heard of it.

Just an hour’s drive from Birmingham, Inkberrow in Worcestershire has been crowned as one of the most beautiful villages in the whole of the UK.

The ‘hidden gem’ has been named in new research as the most aesthetically-pleasing – alongside seven other locations. 

Inkberrow – which is situated on the A422 between Worcester and Stratford upon Avon – has a population of around 2,000 and boasts spectacular views to Bredon Hill and the Malvern Hills.

The picturesque setting, with footpaths around the village, means it’s great for walking, cycling, or horse-riding on the numerous bridleways.

Alongside being an ideal destination for beautiful country walks, Inkberrow is also believed to be the inspiration for Ambridge, the setting of BBC Radio 4’s long-running series The Archers.
