Leica Unveils Its Second-Generation Instant Camera, the SOFORT 2
Five years following the launch of its inaugural instant camera, Leica has announced the second edition of its popular device, dubbed the Leica SOFORT 2.
Fusing digital and analog functions, the brand’s latest camera operates as a hybrid photo tool with a straightforward, minimal composition. With the new device, users will be able to save digital images and select the best shots prior to printing them with a manual lever that produces prints on Instax Mini photo paper in only a few seconds. Additionally, the Leica FOTOS app will let users transfer images taken on both their smartphones and with other Leica cameras for instant printing via the SOFORT 2.
The camera, which is available in black, white and red finishes, features a clean design with a lightweight build. Further, with 10 Filmstyles, including nostalgic and vibrant filters, and 10 Lensstyles, like fisheye, macro and double exposure, the SOFORT 2 offers ample creative freedom.
The Leica SOFORT 2 will be available internationally at all Leica stores, as well as on the brand’s website, beginning November 9. The recommended retail price will be $389 USD. Take a closer look at the device in the gallery above.
