Maximilian Davis Blossoms Into Himself for Ferragamo SS24
Maximilian Davis has blossomed into himself at Ferragamo, revamping the Italian label since his appointment in early 2022. The British designer has turned Ferragamo onto fresh territory for Spring/Summer 2024, unveiling his third collection at the helm of the House.
Ferragamo’s show invite set a delicate stage for the collection, delivering soft teal requests in handwritten envelopes. Held at Milan’s Palazzo Delle Scintille, the interior was tinted in clean white tones, abolishing the brand’s signature red entirely. Davis’ SS24 runway was the epitome of elegance, attended by international personalities, including Tracee Ellis Ross and Fan Bingbing.
A refined palette of black, white, and green — with minimal red touches — defined the collection that stood proudly. Sleek black suits walked the runway with fragile waistlines and open-air sleeves, seeing slim-framed men wear zippered shirting and pleated trousers with beach-ready flip-flops.
Deep green hues drowned leather car coats, V-neck pullovers, and pocketed cargo pants, while figure-shaping dresses restructured the human form. Linen workwear jackets were ready for action, followed by ornamented eveningwear that glistened under the spotlight. Caped versions revealed refined chest structures in motion, completing the 64-look collection with a series of sheer garments featuring ruffled edges and removed sleeves.
