The Irish tourist attraction named best in Europe – beating Buckingham Palace and Eiffel Tower | The Sun

A TOURIST attraction in Ireland has been named the best in Europe – beating even Buckingham Palace and the Eiffel Tower.

The Guinness Storehouse has come out on top at the World Travel Awards, named Europe's Leading Tourist Attraction 2023.



Found in Dublin, the attraction, which welcomes more than 1million tourists a year, last won the award in 2015.

It is the second year it's also won Europe's Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience, beating Fuller's Brewery in the UK and the Budweiser Budvar Brewery in the Czech Republic.

Diageo managing director Catherine Toolan said it was "fantastic recognition" for Ireland.

Paul Kelly, CEO of Fáilte Ireland, added: "This award is excellent recognition for the quality of the visitor experience at the Guinness Storehouse and is particularly special as these awards are voted for by the public.

Inside are seven floors to explore with experiences and activities, including brewery tours and tastings.

The Guinness Academy will teach you the six-step ritual to pour the perfect pint.

You can even print your selfie to put on the head of your Guinness drink.

There's the 1837 Bar & Brasserie, serving Guinness and oysters, Arthur's Bar for lunch or Brewers Dining Hall with a seafood menu.

Otherwise there is also Cooperage Café, while the Gravity Bar has 360-degree views of Dublin.

It's rated highly on TripAdvisor – with nearly 50,000 reviews, more than half of them are five-star.

One person said it was the "best day of their life"

Others said it was the "best thing to do in Dublin" even if you aren't a fan of Guinness.

Even famous faces have visited – including the Queen and Prince William and Kate.

A £73million Guinness attraction is also opening in the UK this year.

Inside will be an immersive experience. bars and restaurants as well as an all-weather courtyard.
