Snuggle Into One of These Sleeping Bags On Your Next Camping Trip

When you’re sleeping in a nice warm bed every other day of your life, sleeping on the cold hard ground doesn’t sound too thrilling. Unfortunately, if your partner’s a fan of the great outdoors or your little one wants the true camping experience, chances are you won’t be able to Troop Beverly Hills yourself out of this one. And if you can’t glamp, you can at least load up the car with glamour-esque camping gear, starting with a comfortable sleeping bag.

There are two kinds of sleeping bags: The cheap, flimsy kind kids tote to sleepovers and the durable, storm-weathering kind outdoorsy people pack for their camping trips. Today, we’re talking about the latter. For a sleeping bag to be worth the investment, it has to be comfortable, lightweight yet heavy-duty, and waterproof. You want to feel safe and secure when you snuggle in for the night after the bonfire and s’mores, but it should also be something you can actually fall (and stay) asleep in. In other words, details matter, so look out for special features like durable materials, warm fabrics and size.

Who knew so much went into picking out a sleeping bad? The good news is, the better the bag, the more use you and your family will get out of it, whether you’re avid campers, enjoy sleeping in your backyard under the stars or your kid attends a lot of sleepovers. Here are the best sleeping bags to choose from.

Our mission at SheKnows is to empower and inspire women, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale and the retailer may receive certain auditable data for accounting purposes.

1. Sleepingo Double Sleeping Bag

Whether you’re camping with your partner, glamping with your squad or are the over-prepared packer of the group, Sleepingo’s sleeping bag has you covered. It might be bold to suggest that this sleeping bag is the mother of all sleeping bags, but listen up: This queen size sleeping bag is glamour, comfort and convenience wrapped up into one hero product. The exterior is made of waterproof, camping-grade 210 thread count polyester, so it’s highly durable and can weather any storm. The interior is made of tetron and cotton for optimal comfort, especially during those chilly nights. And if those details don’t sell you, hear this: It can be used as one large sleeping bag (perfect for spreading out or sharing with a plus one) or split in two, just in case.

2. Coleman Brazos Cold Weather Sleeping Bag

For serious campers who regularly venture into the great outdoors overnight, this is the sleeping bag for you. The polyester sleep sack is lightweight, so it’s easy to pack and lug through the woods along with any other camping essentials, and because it’s designed with Fiberlock Construction, insulation stays solid, therefore extending the life of the sleeping bag. Other features like Roll Control to keep the bag straight as you pack up, and ZipPlow preventing the zipper from getting stuck make this sleeping bag a great pick. But what really sets apart this bag from others is the draft tube liner preventing heat from escaping your snug little space. As long as temperatures don’t dip below 20 degrees, you’ll be nice and cozy all night long.

3. REVALCAMP Sleeping Bag

Color options? Got ‘em. A cozy place to sleep? You bet. REVALCAMP’s vibrant sleeping bags are as basic as they come — no muss, no fuss, just durable sleep slacks adults and kids will love snuggling into after a day outdoors. The sleeping bag comfortably fits children and adults under 6’1”: The interior is filled with plush, so you’ll sleep like a rock all night long, and the zipper stays shut, keeping you snug as a bug in a…well, sleeping bag.

These A-listers managed to hide pregnancies despite living in the public eye – The Sun

DESPITE living in the public eye, Nicole Appleton stunned fans by announcing she had given birth after hiding her pregnancy.

From Robbie and Ayda to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, these A-listers also managed to keep news of their impending arrivals off the grid.

Nicole Appleton, 45, & Stephen Haines, 48

BABY: Skipper Hudson Haines, two months.

REVEALED: After the birth, on March 12, 2020.

KEEPING MUM: Nicole, who is already mum to Gene, 18, by ex-hubby Liam Gallagher, managed to keep schtum about her pregnancy even to friends, only announcing the news once Skipper had safely arrived. By posting old gym snaps throughout her pregnancy, she threw everyone off the scent.

NICOLE SAID: “After hiding my pregnancy, I can finally announce our incredible news! I’m sooo happy!”

Cardi B, 27, & Offset, 28

BABY: Kulture Kiari Cephus, 22 months.

REVEALED: Seven months into the pregnancy.

KEEPING MUM: In a bid to keep her bump hidden, Cardi sported oversized clothes, including at a performance in a Miami nightclub where a metallic billowy dress kept fans none-the-wiser. It wasn’t until she revealed all in a tight white number on Saturday Night Live in April 2018 that the pregnancy was confirmed.

CARDI SAID: Addressing why she decided to keep being pregnant a secret, Cardi commented that people want to: “Scrutinise and try to destroy something that [is] supposed to be a blessing.” Deep.

Cameron Diaz, 47, & Benji Madden, 41

BABY: Raddix Madden, four months.

REVEALED: A week after the birth.

KEEPING MUM: The couple, who got hitched in 2015, kept the birth of Raddix under wraps until she was a week old, before announcing it on Instagram. It triggered a lot of speculation over whether Cameron carried Raddix herself or if a surrogate was used, but armchair detectives have noted that her last public appearance was in May 2019, so it was possible for her to have hidden a pregnancy.

CAMERON SAID: "We feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really, really cute! Some would even say rad.”

Eva Mendes, 46, & Ryan Gosling, 39

BABY: Amada Lee Gosling, four.
REVEALED: 38 weeks into the pregnancy.

KEEPING MUM: The sickeningly gorgeous pair managed to surprise us all in 2016, when it was revealed by E! News that Eva was just a couple of weeks away from giving birth to their second child. But then, their eldest daughter, Esmeralda, five, was also kept secret until Eva was seven months gone.

RYAN SAID: “I feel very lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy daughter, who is an angel.” Aww!

Jessica Biel, 38, & Justin Timberlake, 39

BABY: Silas Randall Timberlake, five.

REVEALED: Six months into the pregnancy.

KEEPING MUM: Although there was some speculation from early on, it wasn’t confirmed until an announcement via our fave Trousersnake’s Instagram page on his birthday no less, which showed him kissing Jess’ baby bump. He wrote: “This year I’m getting the greatest gift ever. I can’t wait!”

JUSTIN SAID: That the things he’s learned from fatherhood “have been profound”.

Jack Fincham, 29, & Casey Ranger, 29

BABY: Blossom, four months.

REVEALED: One day after the birth in January.

KEEPING MUM: Despite winning Love Island 2018 with then-girlfriend Dani Dyer, 24, Jack became single again after the pair called it quits last April. Nine months later, fans discovered that Jack was dad to a baby girl by long-term friend Casey. With a snap on Instagram, the busy boy revealed that Casey had given birth to their daughter and that the two of them would be co-parenting.

JACK SAID: “I kept the pregnancy a secret so her mum could have a peaceful pregnancy, and she did.”

Robbie Williams, 46, & Ayda Field, 41

BABY: Beau Benedict Enthoven Williams, three months.

REVEALED: A few days after the birth in February.

KEEPING MUM: Robbie and Ayda were already parents to daughter Coco, one, son Charlie, five, and daughter Teddy, seven, when they announced the happy arrival of baby boy Beau on Valentine’s Day earlier this year. He was carried by the same surrogate as Coco, their youngest daughter, although he is biologically both Robbie and Ayda’s son.

AYDA SAID: “We are so blessed to have our healthy son safely in our arms and are officially complete as a family.”

Pre-Order These Sweet Kids Face Masks From the Gap Now

Sometimes, we want to roll our eyes when every company in the world wants to hop on a certain trend, but when it comes to kids face masks, we definitely have to make exceptions. Gap is the latest brand to offer up some sweet designs for reusable cloth face masks, which have become a must-have all kids over the age of 2 who might come in close contact with others.

When the Gap offered adult masks for sale on its site a couple of weeks ago, they sold out in just a day, and we expect that to be the case with these kids masks too. The company is rushing so fast to put these masks into production that the site doesn’t even have real photos available. Instead we’re looking at illustrations showing us how the pleated masks will look in each of the 15 different prints available. The prints include polka dots, plaids, flowers, and hearts.

For $15, you’ll get a three-pack of triple-layer pleated cotton masks with over-the-ear elastic bands.

There are new styles available for adults, as well. And you can feel good about buying these face masks from the Gap, as the company has pledged to donate 50,000 of them to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Canada.

The masks are available for pre-order as of Monday, May 18, and as of this writing, it looks like they won’t be available until June 22. Even for that date, we suggest acting fast, as the demand for attractive, comfortable masks is high.

Our mission at SheKnows is to empower and inspire women, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale and the retailer may receive certain auditable data for accounting purposes.

These photos prove animals are actually hilarious comedians

In stressful times, we often turn to animals to comfort us, distract us and make us laugh —  and the 2020 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards have arrived not a moment too soon.

The annual competition began as an effort to advocate for conservationism through compelling nature photography. Once finalists are chosen, the images are compiled into a yearly volume and sold online, with 10% of the profits benefiting the UK-based Born Free Foundation, an animal-welfare charity.

Entries are divided into six different categories, including underwater-only and a contest just for young shutterbugs aged 16 and under. Founder Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, the two photographers in charge of the awards, work with wildlife and photography organizations to sponsor each category, such as Alex Walker’s Serian, “a charismatic collection of exclusive and intimate safari camps” in Kenya and Tanzania, where wildlife documentarians can go to see nature up close.

The contest website would indicate that there are a couple of things that Sullam and Joynson-Hicks take very seriously: conservationism and Fleetwood Mac.

Embedded at No. 18 out of 20 in their terms and conditions, they write that competitors, “must think Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain,” one of the greatest pieces of music ever performed … just kidding. No seriously …”

“If you would like your favourite piece of music featured in this very prestigious section of our Terms and Conditions, email us and try. If it’s good, you never know. But at least we know you have read up to this bit!” they joke.

The period to submit entries for the 2020 contest ends at 11:59 p.m. BST (6:59 EST) on June 30. Winners will be announced in the fall.

These are the two emergency calls made before Ahmaud Arbery was killed

Police in Georgia received two calls prior to the shooting death of an unarmed black jogger — including a 911 call by the white man suspected in the slaying, according to a new report.

The recordings give a chilling account of the moments before 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was shot dead in February.

“Hello, er, I’m out here in Satilla Shores,” Gregory McMichael, a retired district attorney investigator, said during the 911 call. “There’s a black male running down the street,” the Daily Mail reported Thursday. “I don’t know what street we’re on.”

McMichael, 64, who was with his 34-year-old son, Travis, is heard saying, “Goddamn it, c’mon, Travis.”

McMichael then gets off the call, and the 911 operator can be heard asking, “hello, where you at?” for the remainder of the 4 minute, 45-second call, but does not get a response.

Police said Arbery was shot dead in the Brunswick neighborhood after a confrontation with the two white men.

The McMichaels, who told police they believed Arbery was a burglar, have yet to be charged in the shooting.

In a second call to a non-emergency number at the Brunswick Police Department, an unidentified man reports a possible burglary in the neighborhood — although it’s unknown for sure if he was speaking about Arbery.

“There’s a guy in the house right now, a house under construction,” the caller says.

The building is about 500 yards from the McMichaels’ home, the report said.

“And you said someone’s breaking in right now?” the officer responds.

“No, it’s all open, it’s under construction,” the call says. “And he’s running right now. There he goes right now.”

“Okay, what is he doing?” the cop asks.

“He’s running down the street,” he says.

“Okay, that’s fine,” the officer says. “I’ll get them out there. I just need to know what he was doing wrong.”

The caller claims the possible burglar had been seen in the neighborhood before, and has “been caught on the camera a bunch before at night.”

“It’s kind of an ongoing thing out here.”

The case has sparked national outrage following the release this week of a 28-second video of the fatal Feb. 23 encounter.

The video shoes Travis McMichael getting out of a pickup truck and scuffling with Arbery, who is hit with a shotgun blast, staggers, a few feet and falls mortally wounded.

Prosecutors have blamed the coronavirus lockdown for the slow movement in the case, and have cited the inability to convene a grand jury.
