1000lb Sisters: Caleb writes Tammy a heartfelt poem

1000lb Sisters returned to TLC with an all-new and fresh insight into Tammy Slaton and her sibling Amy Slaton’s lives.

With the premiere of season five, the 37-year-old revealed she learned of her husband Caleb Willingham’s death via text message.

The couple met at a rehab facility in Ohio where they were both admitted for weight loss and during season four after months of dating, they tied the knot in November.

But sadly, just six months later Caleb died at just 40 years old, leaving Tammy heartbroken.

In a recent interview, Tammy said after leaving the rehab to go home to Kentucky, she got a text saying he was very sick.

“I was sitting in the fetal position. I got a text message from his friend up there and the text said, ‘Caleb’s not doing good, they’re in there working on him.’

“20 minutes later he texted me back and said he was gone,” Tammy added to PEOPLE.

The heartbroken reality star revealed she’s “doing fairly well” since her tragic loss.

She also decided to keep his memory “encapsulated” in two pieces of jewellery – a ring and a necklace – made from his ashes.

“When I take off my jewellery, I feel like it’s weird, separation anxiety. I start panicking,” adding that she watches the show to remind her of happier times when she starts missing Caleb.

On Friday, June 30, Tammy took to social media to announce her “guardian angel’s” tragic death, where she was met with sympathy and condolences from fans.

In a statement, she said: “I am devastated to share the news of my husband’s passing. He was my best friend and I loved him dearly.

“When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me. “Our families appreciate everyone’s sympathy and ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” Tammy concluded.
