Big Brother fan fury over major change to the theme tune – fuming ‘it sounds like Love Island | The Sun

BIG Brother fans have been left complaining about the new theme tune ahead of the highly-anticipated launch this weekend.

Die-hard viewers have been buzzing for the return of the hit social experiment programme and were hoping the intro song would also be making a comeback.

But fans have noticed the new theme tune has been updated and the bass in the background of the popular dance track has been dropped.

Many said the original them tune tune was "atmospheric" and gave them "shivers", while others praised it as the "song that captured an era wonderfully".

But now unhappy fans have been left disappointed after the song was given a new remix.

Some fans said the rebooted version lacks the original "edginess" and sounds too much like Love Island's theme tune.

One wrote: "The remixed Big Brother theme is the one thing I know I'm gonna dislike about this reboot. It lacks the dark edge and urgency of the previous version. Bring back the bass!"

Another posted: "Only British people understand the heaviness of the combination of nostalgia, excitement and brilliance that the original piece encompasses."

A third said: "I was really hoping they used the original theme song again when the series returned. It's not the same without it."

"This is beginning to sound like Love Island, the Big Brother song was iconic," a fourth commented.

This has not been the only change made to the new series.

The house has been completed with just days to spare.

On Friday GMB's Richard Arnold gave fans a first look at the garden area, which features a hot tub, deck chairs and a hidden smoking area.

There is also a brand new Diary Room chair which has already split opinion.

The vibrant yellow and red design is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled polyester in keeping with the reboot's sustainability drive.

It's backed by a colourful neon arch that pops against a black backdrop.

The new chair is proving a love/hate affair with one fan stating on X: "*THIS* is how you make a diary room chair."

However, another disagreed, saying: "The new diary room chair is genuinely vile."
