Coronation Street’s Rob Mallard eyes up role on rival soap amid Amazon revival
Coronation Street legend Rob Mallard has admitted he would love to join the star-studded cast of Neighbours following the Amazon freevee revival.
On Monday (September 18), loyal viewers of the Australian soap gathered around the TV once again for the highly anticipated reboot, Neighbours: A New Chapter.
It comes after fan-favourites Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce returned for the final episode of the soap last summer after it was axed by Channel 5.

Now, the Daniel Osbourne star, 31, has revealed which soap he would love to be a part of if he had to leave his role in Weatherfield behind.
In an exclusive chat with Daily Star at the British Soap Awards 2023, the TV star confessed he would happily leave the ITV cobbles for a sun-soaked life down under.
He told us: “I think I'd like to go on Neighbours. I’ve got a friend who’s obsessed with it, and she’d think it would be the coolest thing ever if I was in Neighbours. So I think for my friend Jess I'd go on Neighbours, yeah.”
But the Aussie soap doesn’t come without it’s issues after Rob explained that he doesn’t do well in scorching hot weather.
The soap star explained: “I don’t tan well. I go pink and then I go white and then I go back to blue.
“So I’m not a good tanner but I'd do it for Neighbours,” he chuckled.
It comes after Aussie soap bosses have spoken out about shocking recasting of Toadie’s offspring Nell Rebecchi and Hugo Somers.
In a recent Instagram post from the official Neighbours account, the curtain is lifted on the new actors who will portray Nell and Hugo.

The reveal introduces viewers to the talented Ayisha Salem-Towener and Tanner Ellis-Anderson with the show picking up 10 years after the show was cancelled.
