EastEnders' Shona McGarty jets off to Ireland to meet her boyfriend's family as romance heats up | The Sun

EASTENDERS star Shona McGarty has jetted off to Ireland to meet her boyfriend's family.

The soap star is head over heels with musician David Bracken, who is one half of Irish guitar duo Blessed, and it appears their romance is heating up.

The pair cosied up together on board a plane and shared a selfie to Instagram.

David furrowed his brow and added a pair of devilish horns as well as love hearts onto the picture as Shona pouted.

He wrote: "Family time and our first flight together."

Shona shared the image to her story and added the words "my family", along with a love heart emoji.

Shona recently explained her decision to leave EastEnders having played Whitney Dean for 15 years.

"It wasn't an easy decision because I've made so many friends," she said.

"I've seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters.

"I've had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive, and I've been honoured to be trusted with such heavy stuff, year after year."

She added: "So, I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was right decision for me as I want to do other things.

"After 15 years, I've had a pretty good run."
