I’m A Celeb’s Frankie Dettori breaks silence following bittersweet exit
Frankie Dettori backs Sam Thompson to win I’m a Celeb
Frankie Dettori admitted his exit from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! was “bittersweet” but explained he knew he was “never going to win”.
The 52-year-old jockey, and Nella Rose were the two celebs who received the fewest votes on Sunday night. However, it was the jockey who was sent packing.
Leading up to the live eviction many viewers predicted Nella, 26, would be the first to leave following multiple clashes in camp.
Frankie appeared on Monday’s Good Morning Britain where he discussed with his departure from the ITV show with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.
Susanna began: “So Frankie when it was announced that you were the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle, you punched the air, you looked so pleased. Were you sick of it or did you just want to have a proper breakfast?”
He candidly replied: “Listen, it was a bittersweet moment. I obviously wanted to get to the final, but there’s like Sam and Farage and Tony and Marvin and Josie, I was never going to win it, and so actually the thought of spending more more week there was going to be hard for me.”

When discussing who he thinks will win the show, Frankie added: “My bet would be Sam, he brings a lot to the team, he’s entertaining, he’s silly, he sings, he’s happy and I think people are going to like him.”
The Italian jockey spent 12 days in the jungle after he joined as a late arrival with former boxer Tony Bellew.
He admitted to ITV hosts Ant and Dec that his experience was “surreal” following the shock exit.
As he said his farewells, his campmates quickly rallied round him with hugs before chanting “it was a fix” as he crossed the bridge.
Viewers took to X [formerly known as Twitter] as Frankie left and said: “I’m a celebrity is definitely fixed not a chance Frankie was voted out first.”
Another confessed: “Why would people vote for Frankie to leave !!, Even I’m A Celebrity is corruption. There’s no way that’s correct”. (sic)

Although others understood the reason to why he left. Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan said on X: “Poor Frankie – what a genuinely lovely guy just too quiet to get airtime.”
While another agreed: “Knew it would be Frankie as he’s so quiet and the public are d***s not sure if he was edited unfairly.”
A third added: “Gobsmacked it wasn’t Nella. Frankie was as quiet as I’ve ever known him in there.”
A fourth said: “Not really surprised Frankie has gone tbf hes been quite quiet and hasn’t had the airtime tbh that’s why I think.”
Upon leaving Frankie sat down with Ant McPartlin, 48, and Declan Donnelly, 48, and was honest about his time in Australia.
“It’s been so surreal and an adventure. Yesterday really hit me when we got the letters – you forget there is a world outside”, he said.
Branding the experience as intense, he admitted that his time in the jungle had been “challenging, but great” and he had a “fantastic camp”.
“I’m disappointed yes, but very happy because I did nearly two weeks in the jungle, I faced my fears of enclosed spaces and snakes all in the same task”.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
