Shirley Ballas steps out in sequin mini dress after detailing most difficult family moment

Shirley Ballas stepped out in a stunning sequin frock after detailing a "difficult moment" she and her family faced in a candid interview.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 63, was attending the first day of Good Housekeeping Live and looked stunning in a sequin mini dress which showcased her toned legs.

She wore her brunette locks in a curled style and added a pair of black heels to the look, keeping her makeup minimal and glowing.

Shirley was all smiles for her appearance at the event, which came after she opened up about a tough time she and her family faced last year.

Speaking to the Independent, she revealed her son Mark from her marriage to Corky Ballas and his wife BC Jean lost a baby through miscarriage last year while she was judging Strictly.

She said: "They’d waited a long time for their miracle baby. And then to lose it, and for Mark not to be able to be in the hospital with his wife, and I couldn’t be there because I was on Strictly here – it was one of the most difficult things as a family that we’ve ever had to endure.

"And we endured it just as a family: we chose not to share it at the time because we didn’t want to spoil anybody else’s moment on TV or anything like that.”

It comes after Shirley revealed that professional dancer Amy Dowden, who has recently finished chemotherapy for breast cancer, is hoping to be back on screen for the Christmas shows.

Speaking to the publication, Shirley revealed Amy's plans to return to the dance floor. She said: "I wouldn’t be surprised if she does, you know, God willing [return for Christmas]. This show doesn’t leave anybody behind."

She continued: "When you’re on board, they’re very protective. If you choose to leave, then that’s your choice. But whilst you’re under this umbrella, they’re always very, very aware of what situations you’re going through or what’s going on in your life.”

The judge also heaped praise on the star, describing her as a powerful and strong lady, and reflected on her surprise appearance on the show without her wig.

Shirley revealed that Amy wanted people, particularly small children going through the same as her, to see that she was on television bald and that it was ok.
