Sara Sharif’s dad seen for first time since girl's death as stepmum says they will ‘co-operate’ & moans about conditions | The Sun

SARAH Sharif's dad has been seen for the first time since her death in a video message filmed while on the run in Pakistan.

The 10-year-old was found dead at a home in Woking, Surrey, more than a month ago.

Her dad Urfan fled the UK to his native Pakistan where he made a 999 call to British cops.

An international manhunt is now underway to find Mr Sharif, his partner Beinash Batool and Sara’s uncle Faisal Malik and bring them back to Britain to face questioning.

Now, a new video has shown Mr Sharif and Ms Batool sitting together as Ms Batool reads a statement over the August 10 tragedy.

In the clip, she revealed her family "are willing to cooperate with the UK authorities and fight our case in court" – but moaned about the conditions they are living under.

She said: "Firstly, I would like to talk about Sara. Sara's death was an incident. Our family in Pakistan are severely affected by all that is going on.”

It's the first time the pair have surfaced since they disappeared to Pakistan following the death of Sara, with police desperately hunting for them.

It's still unclear how Sara died, however a previous post-mortem revealed the little girl suffered “multiple and extensive injuries which are likely to have been caused over a sustained and extended period of time”.

And last month, the little girl's uncle – Urfan’s brother Imran Sharif – allegedly claimed Sara died after breaking her neck when she fell down a flight of stairs.

But today, Ms Batool denied those claims, saying in the video: "Imran [one of Mr Sharif's brothers] did not give a statement that Sara fell down the stairs and broke her neck. 

“This was spread through a Pakistani media outlet. I am very worried about Imran's safety."

She claims her family have gone into hiding as "everyone is scared for their safety.

Ms Batool continued: "The kids are unable to attend school as they're afraid to leave the house. No one is leaving the house.

"The groceries have run out and there is no food for the kids as the adults are unable to leave their homes out of fear for safety."

FLED TO PAKISTAN

National Crime Agency cops have been working with Interpol and Pakistani authorities to track Mr Sharif, 41, down.

It is understood the dad fled capital Islamabad with Ms Batool and Mr Malik on August 9 – the day before Sara was found dead.

Pakistan police previously said they found evidence the dad briefly returned to his family home in Jhelum.

They are now widening their search area for the on-the-run trio as the net closes in.

There is no extradition treaty between Pakistan and the UK, which would make it difficult to bring the suspects back for questioning.

Sara's grandad Muhammad Sharif – the father of missing Urfan – said his son told him her death was an "accident".

It comes after Sara's mum Olga spoke of her torment at identifying her murdered daughter's body after she suffered horror injuries.

She told Polish television programme Uwaga! on the TVN Channel: "One of her cheeks was swollen and the other side was bruised.

"Even now, when I close my eyes I can see what my baby looked like."

Olga said her daughter was dressed in Mickey Mouse pyjamas and had been covered in a quilt.

She added: "No mother should have to see something like that".

Polish native Olga separated from Sharif in 2015, with both Sara and her brother sent to live with their dad by a family court.

Although the mum had equal rights to see the children, she said this became harder over time.
