As viewers will know, Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) has been stalking and harassing Stacey. And in October, the truth finally came out as he broke into her home and attempted to rape her in her kitchen.
Luckily Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) intervened, and in defence, attacked Theo. Panicked, Stacey then planted a wrench in the stalker’s hand to make it look like he had attempted to attack them.
Earlier this week, her stalker nightmare came to an end when Theo pleaded guilty. However, Stacey had met with Theo prior and told him that he if pleaded guilty they would be together.
Despite Theo getting sent down, Stacey confessed to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) that she had planted the weapon on Theo. Fuming, detective Jack told Stacey he could lose his job over what she told him.
However, Jack, who is currently dating Denise Fox (Diane Parish), decided to keep her secret. The pair then had a heart-to-heart over a drink about their past, including a discussion about their exes Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) and Charlie Branning (Charlie Clements).
But when the two said goodbye, it was pretty clear there was a spark between them. And fans are fuming at their potential affair storyline.
Now, it’s been claimed Stacey could find comfort in the arms of the happily taken man. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if Jack and Stacey could strike up an affair.
The program responded: “There have been hints at a potential romance between the two characters.” The system then listed some factors that could lead to Stacey and Jack’s fling – with their history being one.
Bard AI explained: “Stacey was married to Jack's late nephew Bradley Branning. She has also had two affairs with Jack's brother Max Branning. This complex history could create a sense of tension and unresolved feelings between Stacey and Jack.”
Another factor is their ”current circumstances.” The system said: “Stacey is currently going through a difficult time in her life. Jack has been supportive of Stacey during this ordeal, and their bond could deepen as a result.”
Fans of EastEnders have also echoed Bard AI’s thoughts and are convinced the pair will strike up a romance. But it turns out viewers will not be happy if they start an affair.
