‘Crazy’ hack gets rid of condensation – it’s cheap, lasts for ages and is better than using a dehumidifier | The Sun

ARE you struggling with condensation? According to cleaning fans, there's a 'crazy' hack that works like a charm – and the results last a long time too.

The arrival of winter comes with festivities, Christmas, as well as condensation – which can lead to the growth of black mould.

According to research by Homebrite, the problem is huge – a staggering 58 per cent of privately rented households in England are dealing with damp, mould and/or excessive cold.

This is approximately 2.7 million households, the experts added.

But not only can mould make for an unsightly mess – and reduce the value of your property – the common fungi, as well as dampness, can affect also your health.

The NHS warned that those particularly vulnerable are people with respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma, as well as babies and the elderly.

Being exposed to and inhaling the mould spores can cause a range of issues, such as sneezing, a runny nose, red eyes and skin rash.

In some cases moulds can also cause asthma attacks, the health gurussaid.

But whilst there are numerous ways to tackle this, including switching the heating on or running a dehumidifier all day long, many cash-strapped families are not able to afford the easy methods.

Luckily, one savvy fan of Mrs Hinch has come to rescue with a more affordable trick – and although it may sound totally bonkers, the ''crazy'' hack is said to be highly effective.

Replying to Kymberly, she said: "I know this sounds crazy.

"But… pop cat litter into old socks and tie at the top, it’s cheap and lasts for ages.
