Amy Schumer forced to clarify Nicole Kidman joke after bullying accusations
Amy Schumer has taken to social media to clarify her now-deleted posts about Nicole Kidman’s appearance.
The Australian actress was one of many famous faces to attend the US Open which saw Coco Gauff’s winning game against Aryna Sabalenka.
During the tense game, Kidman was photographed watching the match intently with her arms crossed, a photo which Schumer reshared on Instagram to mock the star.
The comedian captioned the post: “This how human sit.”
However, users didn’t find the post funny and accused Schumer of “cyberbullying” and “selective mean girl trolling.”

As a result, the 42-year-old took down the post and issued a lengthy clarification on Instagram.
She wrote: “Okay so the joke I was making was the way she was posed didn’t seem like how a human sits,
“I was not making fun of how she looks. Nicole Kidman is beautiful and one of the most incredible actors of all time.”
Schumer added: “I hope everyone is okay and takes a deep breath including all of the think pieces written on this. You guys good?”

The Trainwreck star continued: “To all of the people who commented on me. I’m so sorry I’m not prettier. Please forgive me.
“I apologize. It wasn’t even a slow news day. North Korea and Russia are getting too close for comfort. There are deadly storms sweeping our world and a man was convicted of rape.”
Schumer then urged people to “breathe y’all” before claiming she forgives the people who have written “hateful things” on her page as she, too, “likes hot goss[ip].”
During the US Open match, Kidman was seated with her arms folded over her crossed legs with a stern expression.
With one hand under her chin, Schumer insisted she was highlighting how robotic the Academy Award winner looked.
Kidman stunned in a pale pink dress knitted dress which she paired with an oversized white blazer and classic cream loafers.
The actress also opted to style her statement locks in a ponytail that sat neatly over her shoulder.
