Bobby Brazier wanted to cry and hug his dad after emotional NTA speech
NTAs: Bobby Brazier makes Dad cry with acceptance speech
Bobby Brazier admitted he wanted to “cry” and “hug” his dad Jeff Brazier following his emotional National Television Awards (NTA) win on Tuesday.
The actor joined EastEnders in July of last year and has quickly made his mark on the show as Freddie Slater, the son of Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth).
When accepting his award, Bobby managed to hold himself back from crying on stage, but admitted that after his name was announced as the winner all he wanted to do was run to his dad.
Speaking to The Mirror following his big win, Bobby revealed: “I feel so privileged and I feel like I’m a very little part of this award.
“I’m blessed. My dad cried, I think I’m going to cry when I see him. I just want to go and give him a hug now, to be honest.”

The actor and 2023 Strictly Come Dancing contestant continued: “I just want to go and hand this award to my dad, because it’s all because of him.”
Jeff has raised Bobby after the star’s late mother Jade Goody passed away from cancer in 2009.
Bobby was five and his younger brother Freddie, who is now 18, was just four years old at the time.
In the same interview, Bobby also went on to thank one EastEnders actor in particular; Lacey Turner who plays Stacey Slater on the BBC One soap.

He gushed: “Everyone has been an amazing mentor but all for different reasons – either as an actor or a person … but Lacey Turner is one of my best friends on and off screen. She’s just a diamond. To love Lacey is to know Lacey.”
Bobby also thanked his EastEnders family and used his time on stage to thank his biggest supporter, his father Jeff Brazier.
He announced: “This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my dad.
“Over the course of the last twenty years, I have consistently heard him say ‘because I can’. It was a mantra or a motto of his, and him just saying that it’s… Because I can.”
The camera then panned to Jeff who could be seen sobbing with pride as his eldest son enjoyed his moment on stage.
Jeff was even comforted by Bobby’s EastEnders co-star Molly Rainford, whose character Anna Knight is currently in a love triangle with Freddie Slater and Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. While Strictly Come Dancing returns this autumn.
